This is a picture of Jessica Lake just west of Winnipeg, MB - Canada. We went camping one day and got to enjoy this lake and the fresh air. The beach was empty which meant that we could do whatever we wanted whenever we wanted.
The freedom was great.
One afternoon I took my daughter, Veronica to a childrens amusement park. The rides are really simple and designed for children ages 5-10 or maybe 12 years old. Veronica had a lot of fun and still talks about riding on the roller coaster, spin the apple, merry go round, and the ferris wheel.
In the picture we are going for a ride on a small train that goes all the way around the amusement park.
On a saturday afternoon we visited one of my closest friends from University and his wife. Carsten was born in in Germany and moved to Canada when he was 12. His wife is originally from Poland.
We spent the afternoon catching up, drinking beer, and watching our kids play. He has one son and another one of my friends brought his wife and son along as well. It was definitely a good time.
In Carstens backyard he has his own tire swing which Veronica and all the other kids really enjoyed.
Probably the thing I miss the most about Canada is having a house with a large backyard and the ability to have partys or just sit outside and enjoy a good bar-be-que with your friends. Don't you wish you could be there? I know I do.
Well I guess I'll go back to visit again next summer.
The most exciting part of my vacation this summer was visiting my friend Colin and being able to go for a ride on one of his quads. He has four of them. The one I'm on in this picture is able to go up to 140km/h - it's scary and fun but also really dangerous.
