I went to Petra again for more middle eastern food. You really don't know how much I like this restaurant. If you haven't been there yet, you really need to go and give the food a try. It's truly outstanding. If you can't remember the pictures I showed you in September, go visit this post. I hope you visit there sometime and try the food.
Do you like Beer? Do you like Chocolate? Well it seems that Chocolate was originally made into a beer like drink 3,100 years ago. Where can I find that recipe?
This morning I went to Hannam Mart, which is well known in the foreign community for having various food items that are difficult to find elsewhere in Korea. While there I picked up some spices in particular I got some Celery Salt. I also got some cooking sauces by Asian Home Gourmet. These are essentially sauces with a simple recipe that allow you to make Indian Curry, Thai Curry and other South East Asian dishes.
I went specifically looking for pie shells as I would like to make a blueberry pie, but I couldn't find any shells so no pie for me. I was also looking for worcestershire sauce, but couldn't find that either. Will have to continue looking. Just as I was leaving I saw a box of A&W Root Beer. I used to work at A&W in high school and love thier Root Beer (not real beer). It's interesting to note that I have yet to find one Korean who actually likes root beer. Every Korean I know says it tastes like medicine even though I don't think so. Have you tried root beer? Malaysian students, what do you think of it?
Well I finished the KOTESOL conference and it was really great. I have so many fantastic ideas to try out with my classes. I'm really excited and pumped to get down to lesson planning - I just love teaching and conferences really add energy to that motivation.
I saw several presentations on extensive reading, one on reflective teaching, a few on internet in the classroom and a couple of commercial presentations. It was very uplifting. I've even secured a guest lecturer for our class later in this semester. I saw him speak and immediately wanted him to speak to you. I approached the speaker and he was willing to do so. In about 3-4 weeks we will have our guest speaker and I'm sure you will walk away from his lecture enriched.
On Saturday evening after the conference myself and four other teachers went to the new Mexican Restaurant in Shinchon, On the Border. The food was outstanding. I will definitely be going back. If you would like to try some mexican food I strongly encourage you to visit the restaurant. they have a web site, but I can't remember it. Anyhow the restaurant is quite close to YBM and Coffeebean on the way to the Artreon movie theatre.
Hope you had a great weekend. Enjoy the pictures of my dinner.
