About an hour ago I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. All I can say is that I enjoyed it. Did you actually think I would tell you something about the story? ha. of course not.
Now go out, buy the book and read it. I know the Korean version isn't available yet, so this will be a great opportunity for you to read in English.
Today I'm going to see The Transformers, Again. My wife has decided she wants to see it, so I am going again. Actually I'm looking forward to watching it again as I can focus on background details and special fx more than the story.
After we watch Transformers, I'll be heading into Chongno to pick up the latest and last Harry Potter book and then not sleeping all night so I can read it before I see something on the internet telling me the ending.
While I was there I also picked up a book about the success of Starbucks. I love coffee and am interested in the success of Starbucks so during the summer vacation I'll head down to my local starbucks and read this book. Great fun.
I also picked up all the Matrix movies and special features as a 10 dvd box set and will probably watch one each night for the next four nights.
Yesterday I watched the latest Harry Potter movie. I'm not going to tell you the story or anything that happened. I will however say that this movie is not worth seeing in the theatre. The story was boring, probably because there was a lot missing compared to the book. In my opinion it would have been better for this movie to be released in two parts or else be another 45 minutes longer just so the plot holes could be filled.
The other problem was that there was no tension. The movie did not create interest in what was coming up. When the final scene arrived that should have been tense and exciting, all I could think was "this is it?" I was glad the movie was over.
The good part of this movie were the special effects. The FX were outstanding and blended seamlessly into the movie creating the illusion of reality. But FX do not carry a movie to success. My rating for this film is 3/5
On Friday after class I'm going to go see the New Harry Potter movie. I'm looking forward to it, but am also expecting many cuts. There is no way that to get everything from the book into a two or three hour movie. Anyhow it should be fun and well worth seeing in the theatre.
I'm also looking forward to the latest book to be released on July 21. I've been thinking about re-reading the entire series, but probably will not. If I re-read the series then I won't be able to read the seventh book until a few weeks after it's release. This is bad, because everyone will be talking about it and I will know the story before I read it.
The result here is that I will probably go to the bookstore on the 21st or 22nd and buy it. I will also not watch TV, use the internet, or talk to friends untilI finish the book. What are your plans for the summer?
